My name is LaMar Gafford and I am the owner of this blog.
First of all, I personally would like to thank you for visiting and I hope you continue to come back to read insightful pieces about sports (and other things, as well).
I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in December 2010 with a degree in Mass Communications and a concentration in journalism.
I always wanted to be a sports journalist, however I never thought about sports writing until my sophomore year at ULM. There I answered an ad to be a sports writer for its school newspaper, The ULM Hawkeye. I worked my way up to sports editor in August 2008, went to a couple of collegiate media conventions, and interned with The Times in Shreveport, La. during the summer of 2010.
I am an avid sports fan, so I try to mix a traditional journalistic view with the view of a ravenous fan. I believe this brings a lively personality, which I feel is important to any writer.
Anyways, this blog is about all of us. I know I may be right with some of my opinions, but then again there are times where I am wrong. Comments are very welcome, because nothing gets the ball rolling like a good agreement and debate.
